Karen, Myriam Makeba and Nina Simone

Before Nina's death she lived in Amsterdam for a few years and I was introduced to her by a friend. Nina and Myriam were very close friends,  so when I was asked to sing and play at a party Nina gave in honor of Myriam, I jumped at the chance to meet one of the women who influenced my life.  My knees were knocking, I'm not an overly confident person, but with the help of my friends it was fine, a great experience to know these legendary ladies.
